It’s almost that time again!  The annual “Size Matters” Fishing contest will take place on June 11th & 12th and again on June 18th & 19th in honor of Father’s Day.  There will be 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes given for big, bigger and biggest fish.  The fish are measured in length not weight.  There is no charge to participate if you are a registered guest.  The ladies are invited to fish too!  If you are not a registered guest and would like to participate in the contest the fee is $20.00.  Call the office for details at 219-861-0000.

Don’t miss our on the 3rd annual Murder Mystery Weekend on September 23rd, 24th and 25th.  This year’s theme will be a 1950′s Sock Hop and Prom.  The cost is only $800.00 per couple, which includes your cabin, meals, beverages, beer, wine and cocktails for the weekend.  Reserve your cabin today, deposits are now being taken!

Our horseman, Ryan, has just returned from Oklahoma.  He was there for two months going to school to learn how to shoe horses.  In Ryan’s absence, Tina, one of our gals in guest relations has been taking our guests on carriage rides.  She has been doing a great job!

Liz recently purchased her first new home, congratulations Liz!  Connie moved into her new apartment.  We all know where the pool parties will be this summer!

Beth and her family took a vacation to Florida and Kentucky.  First time ever there were two “Goofys” at Disney world!   Kim, along with a friend, recently drove cross country and through the desert to Las Vegas.  We have no doubt that these two young ladies behaved themselves in “Sin City.”  Welcome home to both of you!

Laura, the owner of Serenity Springs, has been battling with DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis) since last November.  After several procedures and surgeries, she is slowly getting back to her daily routine.  Thank you to everyone who has sent warm get well wishes.

Our Hens have been busy laying fresh eggs for our guests to enjoy on their grills in the morning.  The roosters still don’t know how to tell time.   They continue to cockadoodledoo all day! LOL

Speaking of roosters one of our roosters has found an attraction with one of our staff members.  He likes to peck at her as she walks by.  Anyone know a cure for this?  Gabbie is trying very hard to do her job and take care of guests while being harassed by a rooster.  Thanks goodness she has a sense of humor.

Kate and Butch, the Serenity horses, have shed their winter coats and are ready for spring carriage rides.  Thanks to all of our guests that bring them carrots and apples.

We have also put op several Purple Martin bird houses.  These fascinating birds individually eat more than 2000 mosquitoes daily.  They will take a three month journey to arrive here from Brazil in May.  They are here for only three months, having young at the end of their stay.  They will then begin their three month journey back to Brazil.

Serenity Springs has just received its 6th “Team Effort” award at the annual ROSE (Recognition of Service Excellence) Luncheon.  Way to go to an awesome staff.  The staff attended the seminar before the luncheon where Janie Wiltshire gave a fantastic customer service presentation.
